FAQs

How do I answer flashcards?

To write your answer in the Chinese and Pinyin flashcards, you need to configure the built-in Chinese keyboards. Follow the instructions below:

  • Open the Settings app

  • Navigate to General > Keyboard > Keyboards

  • Tap on Add New Keyboard…

  • Tap on Chinese, Simplified

  • Select Pinyin and Handwriting

  • Tap Done

  • Return to the Wen app

To switch keyboard, tap and hold the globe 🌐 icon and select “简体手写” (Handwriting) or “简体拼音“ (Pinyin).

On Chinese flashcards, use the “简体手写” (Handwriting) keyboard. Draw a character and select one of the candidates that appeared.

On Pinyin flashcards, use the “简体拼音“ (Pinyin) keyboard. To add a tone, press and hold a vowel and select the right tone. For ü, use the letter v.

Can I switch to traditional characters?

Not at the moment. We will be adding this feature in the future.

Why are the English translations different from those in my textbook?

We developed our own translation dictionary for Wen. For clarity, we present only the most common meanings of a word. English translations may differ slightly from those in your textbooks.

Will more vocabulary lists be added in the future?
